How can we waste 2.5 billion tonnes of food while over 800 million people struggle to eat? This isn't a business problem, it's humanity's problem.
Our team has spent decades in the food industry not only serving the best, but seeing the worst. The way we throw away food that isn't perfect. The way we made junk food the most affordable option. The way we fight to consume everything before it spoils. Our food system is broken, and back in 2019 Trendi was founded to bring people together to solve this problem.
Seeing this problem is what inspired the ambition to use technology to transform unsold and misfit food into long-lasting, nutritious ingredients.
Trendi's team of misfits is only one piece of the system though - working between farms, manufacturers, and global food brands. This problem needs everyone's participation so that we can make a difference together.
