Trendi aims to help the agricultural community reduce food waste at its source with its upcoming BioTrim technology

Vancouver, BC, CANADA, March 8, 2022 – TrendiTech Inc. (Trendi), Canada’s robotics start-up dedicated to rescuing and upcycling food waste into valuable products, is making its Commodity Classic debut on March 10, 2022 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (900 Convention Centre Boulevard).

Trendi will be on the exhibitor floor at booth 5766, where its team will digitally showcase its modular food processing technology, provide upcycled product samples, and highlight ways it can help the agriculture sector turn food waste into revenue.

“We look forward to meeting with farmers and agribusiness industry experts at Commodity Classic this week, to talk to them and show them how our new robotics technology can help them process and upcycle food waste,” explains Carissa Campeotto, co-founder and CMO of Trendi. “The theme this year is ‘The Future is in Your Hands’ and that couldn’t be more true. 2.5 billion tonnes of food is lost or wasted globally every year, while more than 800 million people are food deprived. We hope Trendi is just one part of the solution.”

Since launching last summer, Trendi has raised $1.8 million USD in seed funding for its BioTrim robotics technology. The company was founded by Campeotto and Craig McIntosh, when they both discovered there was an opportunity to invest in stopping the world’s food waste problem with new robotics. Both come from a hospitality background, where they have witnessed first hand how much food can be wasted.

“Our approach is to turn what the industry may consider ‘waste’ and turn it into nutritious treasures that hold high-profit margins – this will allow us to share profits with our partners, creating a new source of revenue, while also reducing their footprint at the same time,” adds Campeotto.

Trendi will be at Commodity Classic from March 10 to 12, 2022, after which the team will travel to Austin, Texas for SXSW from March 15 to 19, 2022.
